Born among the redwoods of Mount Shasta and raised among the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona, Jon Collamergrew up surrounded by beauty, independence, and the belief that life’s purpose is to serve others.
His mother, Adona Grace, remains his closest confidant. Their daily conversations about life, politics, and philosophy keep him grounded in compassion and courage. A defender of free speech during the historic 1968 Democratic Convention and the Chicago 7 era, Adona’s life embodies the American spirit — fierce love, creative resistance, and boundless hope.
Jon earned his B.A. in Creative Writing from Western Washington University, where he snowboarded Mount Baker, played in the punk rock band KOLA, and began writing for newspapers and magazines. His creative journey grew into a lifetime of storytelling and public service — producing projects such as TIBBS, From Toast 2 Toast, and The Willow Jon Show, blending music, film, and civic dialogue to inspire conversation and connection.
From door-to-door sales to teaching in Longmont and Superior schools, Jon’s work has always centered on people. He’s served as a para-educator, an energy efficiency consultant, and a brand ambassador for national companies — experiences that taught him communication, discipline, and the dignity of hard, honest work.
Single but open to love and family, Jon defines greatness not by status but by spirit — by how we serve, create, and care for one another.
“My story is part of a greater American tradition.”
— Jon Collamer
The Collamer name has long been tied to courage and conscience.
In 1777, Jon’s ancestor Anthony Collamer fought at the pivotal Battle of Saratoga, where his wounds bore witness to the price of independence. A century later, Jacob Collamer of Vermont — remembered as “The Green Mountain Socrates” — carried that same flame into public life.
Jacob served as a U.S. Congressman, Associate Justice of the Vermont Supreme Court, Postmaster General under President Zachary Taylor, and later as a U.S. Senator. He stood firmly against slavery when compromise was easier than courage, earning admiration across party lines for his integrity and principle.
“True leadership is measured not by popularity, but by principle.”
— Jacob Collamer
Generations later, the Collamer name found its way west. Jon’s ancestors settled in Northern Colorado, where the values of hard work, independence, and community became the backbone of towns like Fort Collins.
Today, that spirit lives on through The Collamer Stage Live — A Lineage of Light, a project uniting history, music, and civic dialogue. From Saratoga to the Rockies, from revolution to reinvention, the Collamer story is a living lineage — proof that courage and imagination can still build a better country.
We stand at a crossroads — economically, politically, and spiritually. Division and propaganda threaten our unity, while greed and bureaucracy have left working families behind. Politics reacts to crisis instead of preventing it.
But Colorado can be different. Colorado can lead.
Jon’s campaign rests on three pillars:
Mental Wellness — Healing our communities through compassion, creativity, and care.
Affordable Housing — Ensuring stability and dignity for working families and young Coloradans.
Energy Independence — Building a sustainable future powered by innovation and common sense.
These pillars are connected:
Mental wellness strengthens families.
Stable housing anchors communities.
Clean energy builds independence.
Beyond those pillars, Jon’s vision reaches further:
Educate and inform — empowering citizens against misinformation.
Promote innovation and creativity — making Colorado a hub for culture and collaboration.
Act before crisis — investing in prevention, wellness, and resilience.
Build unity through community — because greatness is never born of division, but of solidarity.
“This campaign isn’t about left or right — it’s about leading with clarity, compassion, and common sense in uncertain times.”
— Jon Collamer
I’m running because Colorado deserves leadership rooted in service, not status — leadership that listens, learns, and leads with heart.
I believe Colorado can be a beacon for the nation — a place where freedom is balanced with responsibility, where innovation meets compassion, and where every voice matters.
Too many people have fallen through the cracks of systems meant to serve them. It’s time to build something better — together.
“Together, we will provide top-quality housing, mental health care, energy independence, and an abundant economy. Let’s Clean Up Colorado.”
— Jon Collamer
My parents met in Golden, Colorado in the 1970s — a love story that became part of mine. Their roots became my compass, grounding me in the state I now proudly call home.
Colorado has given me direction, purpose, and a community worth fighting for. Now, it’s my turn to give something back.
This campaign isn’t about comfort — it’s about courage.
It’s about building a Colorado where:
Families can afford to put down roots.
Workers are respected and rewarded.
Education inspires creativity, not conformity.
Mental wellness and art are seen as strength, not stigma.
Clean energy and bold ideas drive our economy without sacrificing our mountains, rivers, or sky.
We’re living in a time that calls for heart — not just politics. And as America faces new challenges, both here and abroad, I will serve her with love, resilience, and faith that Colorado can once again lead the way.
This campaign isn’t just about winning an election — it’s about redefining leadership in America.
I’m inviting artists, educators, veterans, farmers, students, and dreamers to stand shoulder to shoulder. Together, we’ll prove that independence is not isolation — it’s unity built on courage, compassion, and love.
Together, we are Cleaning It Up Colorado.
Thank you, Colorado.
— Jon Collamer

Passing the Torch — Jon Collamer with Governor Jared Polis, A New Generation of Leadership
Jon Collamer believes that real change doesn’t come from government mandates at the top—it starts in the heart of the community. He stands for people before politics, responsibility before partisanship, and truth before noise.
His vision is of a Colorado rooted in gratitude, courage, and local strength—where families thrive, communities take care of one another, and politics becomes human again.
Jon Collamer is running as an Independent candidate for Governor of Colorado in 2026. His campaign is built on a simple truth: healthy communities create a healthy state—and a stronger union.
Jon believes that true freedom comes when people have the opportunity to live with dignity—mentally, physically, and spiritually—within communities that value faith, family, and hard work. He envisions a Colorado where collaboration strengthens competition, and where success is measured not only by profit, but by security, well-being, and shared purpose.
